Wensum Valley Cycling
We are a friendly bunch of cycling enthusiasts that mainly participate in group rides on road bikes. We may go off-road during the winter, when there is the danger of ice, and on some of our Saturday Specials. Sunday rides are usually around 50 miles (80 km), others can be any distance up to 100 miles (160 km). We are affiliated with British Cycling and currently have 75 members (October 2024), so hope you’ll come along and join us.
We try to cater for riders of different levels of experience and ability, particularly on Thursday evenings during the warmer months. Most of our rides start at The Parson Woodforde, Weston Longville, which is north of the A47, between Norwich and Dereham. We embrace the social side of cycling. Most of our rides involving a café stop and there is opportunity for refreshments back at the pub.
Other activities include the likes of educational evenings, where we provide advice on various topics such as navigation, cycle satnavs, route planning, maintenance and nutrition.
We operate a membership scheme and welcome potential new members to try us before joining, we will be pleased to see you.
The fee for new members is £30. Memberships will run for 12 months from the date of registration. Members are entitled to a £20 subsidy towards the purchase of a club jersey, then another £20 towards one other item of club clothing. If you would like to join, please complete the WVC Members Register.
